“Unfortunately, Jack, you have broken too many rules already.”
Karen began raising the pistol again, and pointed it straight at
Jack’s heart.
“Mistress Karen, please don’t kill me! Please, I beg of you!
Beat me, punish me for my offenses, please please please don’t kill
me.” Jack let out a terrible wail, and began shaking all over. She
was going to kill him.
At once, Mistress Karen turned to the 30 or so other sorrority
members and said, “Who in this building thinks this man is honorable?”
A long pause passed, and no one raised their hand, or spoke out.
“Who in this building thinks that this man is brave?”
A longer pause followed, and Karen looked at Jack.
“Who in this building thinks that this man, Jack, should be
allowed to live?”
